Assignment due next class (Wed. Nov. 5):

take your 3 act breakdown or outline, and CHANGE GENRE. Re-write this simple breakdown, same story, same character, same plot, but put it in a different movie genre universe. This should be fun and creative, and hopefully inform or discover some new aspect of your movie.

Should you need to be reminded of what some film genres are, go to:

Wed. Oct 29

1st draft and pre-visualization:

DUE MON. 11/3: a rough 1st draft of your script, with Storyboards illustrating your ideas about the visual elements (both script and storyboards should be hard copies)

Use this as Locations scouting, so you are actually making photos in the spaces where you intend to shoot your film. Print images on 8 1/2 x 11 paper and draw or add notes and other elements to help you visualize each scene. You need not worry about making great Art, its only important to create a visual record of what you intend to do, so that I and later your crew will understand your concepts.

(read Ch. 5 in VOICE and VISION for information about pre-visualization)
